2017 Palm Beach County REEF Lionfish Derby at Loggerhead Marinelife Center
Lionfish Festival Details:
Join us on Sunday, August 13th from 12pm to 3pm for lionfish scoring, educational dissections, crafts, cooking competition, live music, and more!
Buy a VIP Access Pass to sample lionfish cuisine, vote in the People's Choice component of the culinary competition, receive two free beers at the Beer Garden sponsored by Lagunitas Brewing Company, and get an exclusive tour of Loggerhead Marinelife Center.
Derby Details:
Captain's Meeting: Friday, August 11th at Loggerhead Marinelife Center (14200 U.S. Hwy 1, Juno Beach, FL 33408)
5:30-6:30pm: Late registration for those teams not yet registered
6:30-7:30 pm: Captain's Meeting
Lionfish Collection: Saturday August 12th, all day - Teams may begin collecting at sunrise
Lionfish Scoring & Awards: Sunday August 13th
12 pm: All lionfish must be turned into the scoring station (Loggerhead Marinelife Center).
~1 pm: Awards ceremony for Derby participants!
*** The Captain's Meeting is mandatory for the team captains and all team members are encouraged to attend. The team captain must be one of the four participants in the derby, but does not need to be the captain of the boat. Safe collecting and handling techniques and derby rules will be reviewed. ***
Registration cost: $120.00 (2-4 people per team)
