Marine Invertebrate ID Seminar, offered by the Dive Club of Silicon Valley FREE of charge. NOAA scientist Dr. Steve Lonhart will teach this course. Upon completing this basics ID seminar you should be able to identify most common Invertebrates in the Monterey Bay area. Also, you will learn how to conduct REEF surveys while diving.

Divers are invited to a seminar on marine fish identification for California SCUBA divers at the Monterey Bay Aquarium (MBA) on Saturday, June 20th at 3:00pm. The seminar is led by Gil Falcone, MBA dive safety officer, and John Wolfe, a volunteer for Reef Environmental Education Foundation (REEF). REEF's roving diver technique for conducting fish surveys will also be described. Divers can meet beforehand at 9:30am at Coral Street cove to practice in-water fish ID.
A Free Fish ID class will be given at the Desert Dolphins meeting on June 17 in Tucson. We will follow with dive trips to San Carlos, MX to count fish for REEF and the Great American Fish Count.
Join the 8th Annual Northeast GAFC event in Gloucester, MA on July 25, 2009. Shore dives will be conducted at 8 locations around Cape Ann, MA and Nubble Light, York, Maine. Completed survey forms will enter divers into a free volunteer fish counters raffle currently valued at $8,000.00. Grand prizes include a dive trip to Bonaire, Dive in the New England Aquarium Giant Ocean Tank, Regulators, 3 wetsuits and Split Fins.
Amateur photographers may enter by submitting a photo taken in July 2009 while conducting a fish or invertebrate survey for the Reef Environmental Education Foundation's Great Annual Fish Count.

REEF Fish ID Training Seminar at Scuba Dogs of Puerto Rico, Buen Samaritano #D-13, Gardenville, Guaynabo, PR. Seminar will start at 7PM. Learn the names of and how to identify the local fish at a FREE Fish ID seminar. Also learn how to conduct REEF surveys during any snorkel or dive. The training will be capped off with survey dives to launch our Fish census program at Pocita Underwater Park, Playa Escambron.
Two dives will be conducted at the Pocita Underwater Park, Playa Escambron to cap off the Fish ID seminar and to launch out our Fish census program. Divers should be ready to enter the water fro the first dive by 9 am.
