Part of a volcanic and coral mountain range, Guanaja is within the world's second-largest barrier reef, the Mesoamerican Barrier Reef. Dive sites surround the entire island, meaning it's possible to find a site with calm water on nearly any day of the week. Just steps from the sandy beach, the rocks and flats surrounding the island are perfect for those who love shore diving and searching for all of the unique fish species that inhabit the shallows. The Villa on Dunbar Rock is a one of a kind resort providing stunning 360 degree views.
REEF surveyors will enjoy the fish diversity found in San Salvador, voted one of the best wall-diving locations in the Caribbean. The island, located in the southeastern Bahamas, is the tip of a submerged mountain that plunges more than 15,000 feet below the ocean's surface. Shark lovers will especially enjoy this location, as it is one of the few places known to attract Scalloped Hammerheads, which are seen more frequently during the winter months. Family-owned and operated Riding Rock Resort is one of only two resorts located on the San Salvador waterfront.
Located in remote Raja Ampat, Indonesia, Misool is known for pristine reefs and abundant marine life. All of the dive sites are protected by the resort's own Misool Private Marine Reserve, including the House Reef, a world-class shore dive with the opportunity to see unique animals including Black Tip Reef Sharks, Bargibanti and Denise Pygmy Seahorses, and even mating Mandarinfish!
Join us on our second visit to Jardines de la Reina (Gardens of the Queen), a marine park located on the southeastern portion of Cuba. A variety of marine habitats including patch reefs, seagrass, and mangroves surround the islands, providing important nursery areas for many juvenile fish species.
From walls adorned with spectacular corals, wrecks that are home to a diverse array of marine life, or shallow reefs teeming with tropical fish species, the dive sites of Grand Cayman will delight REEF surveyors. Weather permitting, one 3-tank dive trip will be offered during the week, and participants may also take advantage of the unlimited shore diving directly in front of Sunset House. While Grand Cayman has more than 365 dive sites, this destination also has plenty of activities to enjoy during surface intervals or to entertain non-divers, including Stingray City, Pedro St.

This is REEF's first trip to the little-known paradise of St. Eustatius, or Statia. Diving in St. Eustatius consists of a variety of diverse habitats including walls, wrecks, patch reefs and rocky outcroppings. Because large-scale tourism has not yet arrived in Statia, it's rare to encounter other divers on the same site and the reefs tend to be in great condition. Healthy reefs and abundant fish life await surveyors, who will love Scubaqua's safety-oriented approach to diving. Free nitrox is included in this package for those who are certified.
REEF's fifth Field Survey to Fiji is sure to be a fantastic 10 days of diving, fish surveying, and plenty of fun with friends! Central Fiji is known as a hotspot for diving, due to a combination of unique characteristics, including nutrient-rich runoff, deep-ocean upwelling, tidal and wind-driven currents and protection from numerous barrier islands. The South Pacific is an extremely diverse region with massive schools of pelagics such as Bigeye Trevally, Scad, and Barracuda, Gray Reef and Whitetip Reef Sharks, and unusual creatures like the Leaf Scorpionfish and Hairy Ghost Pipefish.
Escape the hectic holidays with a fun dive vacation to the Turks and Caicos Islands. This is one of the few locations in the Caribbean that is known to have a healthy Nassau Grouper population, and because this trip falls right after the full moon, you may even see grouper migrating to spawning sites, or get to view them in their breeding colors! The Turks and Caicos Islands are also known to have resident Reef Sharks, frequently sighted on numerous dive locations. In addition, many other fish finds await discovery on the walls and reefs throughout the islands.
The Mesoamerican Barrier Reef is the second-largest reef system in the world, and home to many different fish species.
