Free diving, free food, and free fish ID seminar sponsored by National Geographic Magazine and the Rosenstiel School, University of Miami.  Meet at Tarpoon Diving Center, Miami Beach at 2:30 for a presentation by DERM on Wreck Trek connectivity.  At 3:15, REEF will give a free Fish ID seminar and at 5pm the boat will leave the dock for a free one tank dive on the Wreck Trek!

On the cruise back to the dock, BYOB and enjoy food provided by El Brazo Fuerto Bakery.

There is no boat fee, just contact your local dive shop to rent a tank and gear!  

 

Join us at Quiescence Diving Services, Inc. in Key Largo FL for Great Annual Fish Count Fish ID seminars and dives. We will be holding a free REEF Fish Identification Course between 10:00am - 11:30am that is open to the public.  That afternoon join us for  fish survey dives that will include two dive sites off the coast of Key Largo. Dive Trip charge is $85.00 per person and includes tanks and weights, rental equipment is available for an extra charge.

After a lunch break, divers will reunite to complete an afternoon of survey dives (2 tanks) putting their new fish ID knowledge to work!

REEF will kick off this year’s GAFC events with their annual Vandenberg monitoring surveys in Key West.  REEF staff and members of the Advanced Assessment Survey Team will spend the week of June 27th-July 1st monitoring fish species and abundances on  the ex-military tracking ship and other area artificial and natural reef ecosystems.  Divers who are not yet experts in fish identification are welcome to join in on these surveys and practice their fish ID and survey skills.
