Cabañas on Clark’s Cay in the Bay Islands, Guanaja, Honduras, is a 4-acre island oasis that offers incredible seascapes, an open-air restaurant, and bar, an infinity pool, and spa along with a meandering lazy river. Concierge dive services enable guests to fully enjoy the splendor of Guanaja’s coral reef system featuring dives on pinnacles,
walls, and the wreck of the Jado Trader. Participants will contribute to REEF's online survey database and expand their Caribbean fish ID knowledge on this dive trip.

Accommodations: Cabanas on Clark’s Cay offers 4 Standard Cabanas and 4 Deluxe Oceanfront Cabanas that have either 1 king or 2 twin beds. Two One-bedroom suites are also available with a prime oceanfront location and an expansive deck. All rooms have air-conditioning and free Wi-Fi.

Diving: the trip package includes 3 boat dives daily, 2 morning dives, and 1 afternoon dive, with diving beginning on Sunday, April 2, and ending with 2 dives on Friday, April 7. There will be a night dive scheduled on one of the evenings during the week. The average water temperature is in the mid-low 80's and visibility is generally around 100 feet/30 meters. Nitrox can be added for certified divers at $120 pp.

Your Package Includes:  The trip package includes seven nights of accommodation, 3 boat dives daily with 2 dives on Friday, 3 gourmet meals daily plus happy hour snacks, complimentary use of sea kayaks and paddleboards, Ferry from Roatan to and from Guanaja, tanks, weights, and access to a private waterpark guaranteed to bring the kid out in anyone!

REEF Program Fee: A REEF Program Fee of $300 per diver will be added to each package to cover the cost of the group leader, seminar, and REEF survey materials.

Other Costs Paid to REEF: Packages do not include a 19% Honduran tax, an $85 ferry ticket on the Galaxy Wave to and from Guanaja, and an optional $120 Nitrox upgrade. Which will be added to the final REEF payment for all participants.

Additional Fees - Not Paid to REEF: The following costs are not included in the price paid to REEF. All flights, $10 Marine Park Fee, $10 Taxi ride to the Roatan-Guanaja Ferry, $5 each way.

Honduras Travel Info

Insurance: Travel insurance is not included. REEF strongly recommends that each participant purchase adequate dive travel insurance to protect you from unforeseen circumstances. REEF partners with both DiveAssure and DAN to offer travel insurance packages specifically for divers. REEF will receive a portion of the proceeds from travel insurance purchases when you click on the following affiliate links for DiveAssure or DAN.

How to Get There:  Participants should make arrangements to fly into Juan Manuel Gálvez International Airport (airport code RTB), arriving the morning of April 1 and departing on April 8. Participants will board a prearranged taxi to the Roatan Ferry which leaves at 4 PM EST. The Ferry will depart at 8:30 AM on the day of departure. All participants are responsible for booking their own flights. REEF is not able to book airfare.

Transfers: Transfer to and from the Roatan airport to the Guanaja Ferry is not included but pre-arranged and is about a 10-minute ride from the airport. The round-trip ferry transfers are included in the package price and is about 1.5hrs long. From the port in Guanaja, Clark’s Cay will transport you to their island resort via boat. Flight information will be collected from each participant in advance to arrange for an easy pickup.

Passports, Documentation, and Visas: A passport valid for six months from the date of departure is required by all nationals referred to in the chart above wishing to visit Honduras.

COVID-19 Considerations: It is the participant's responsibility to ensure that they understand and comply with all local requirements (for entry and visit as a tourist) of the host destination, and for exit and entry requirements for their home country. Be prepared for your plans to change. Be sure your travel insurance covers COVID-related issues. No travel is risk-free during the COVID-19 pandemic.
