Join us on Sunday, January 17th from 9-11am at REEF Headquarters (98300 Overseas Hwy., Key Largo, FL in the median) for our lionfish collecting and handling workshop! Workshop topics will include the background of the invasion, lionfish biology, ecological impacts, current research findings, and collecting and handling tools and techniques. Each participant will also have the opportunity to get a Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary (FKNMS) lionfish collecting permit, allowing you to collect lionfish in the Sanctuary Preservation Areas using hand nets. Following the workshop, we will be going on a Lionfish Dive with the Islamorada Dive Center.  To join, call IDC directly (305-664-3483) and ask to be placed with the REEF Lionfish Dive. Registration for the workshop and dive is required.
