Often referred to as a 'Caribbean Icon,' Nassau Grouper are an important part of coral reef ecosystems and a valuable resource to many fishing communities throughout the Caribbean. REEF's Grouper Moon Project is a widely-used example of collaboration in conservation science to protect and sustainably manage a fisheries population, benefiting not only the ecosystem but also the community.  

Students will use critical thinking to analyze all possible solutions to sustainably protect and manage the Nassau Grouper population. They will act as if they are they are the regional authority responsible for making decisions balancing the interest of fisheries, conservationists, and local communities.
