This a PADI Distinctive Specialty - Pacific NW Marine Life Identification and runs 4 consecutive Tuesdays starting at 6:30 pm and running about 3 hours each night. November 8, 15, 22, and 29, 2011 at Bubbles Below in Woodinville. Fish and Invertibrates are covered. I will be including the REEF Program in this course. Emphasis is placed on identification of marine life, how to find them, their interactions and how to submit REEF surveys. We will be conducting a minimum of two dives during the course. At the end of the program divers will have earned the PADI Pacific NW Marine Life Identification.
This course grew out of the realization that divers were missing some of the most amazing and beautiful creatures in our waters. All divers seemed to talk about were octopus, wolf-eel, ling cod and 6 gill sharks. I began teaching this course in 1988 as a way of increasing the awareness of divers to the wealth of marine life available if they would just slow down, cover less area and marvel at the wonders of the beautiful marine life in Puget Sound and British Columbia.
