Join REEF Fieldstation Seattle Scuba for a REEF Pacific Northwest region basic Fish ID class!
There will be an evening of lecture (Friday 6 - 9:30pm), followed by a day of diving (Saturday am to ~4pm). During the classroom portion we will introduce you to ~ 40 of the most common local fishes, along with easy ID tricks to make figuring out who is who down there less daunting. On Saturday we will head to Redondo beach park in Des Moines to take a tour of the (free to the publis) MaST Aquarium on the pier next to Salty's. We will follow this up with 2 dives working on identifying fishes and filling out REEF surveys.
Upon successful completion of this class (with both dives) divers will obtain the PADI Fish ID Specialty. Upon completion of 2 REEF surveys and passing the final exam (not required for specialty certification), divers will become REEF level 2 surveyors.
Cost: $150 tuition - including classroom lecture, two dives and PADI Specialty certification.
