I feel comfortable it is a porgy, but I have trouble distinguishing among the species. I am thinking jolthead, knobbed or saucereye. How did I do? What are the distinguishing marks?
March 1, 2012, Molasses Reef, M-4, fish about 12-inches long, 80-degree bottom temperature, 28 feet deep.

PORGY
See the big lips and the slopey forehead? This is a Jolthead Porgy, nice find!
Thank You
Thank you for such a quick, thorough and clear answer. The more I dive, the older I get, the more I learn.

Jolthead Porgy
You can also tell Jolthead by the blue mustache above the lips.
Excellent
Excellent; that is just the kind of distinctive characteristic I am looking for.
Thank You,
Marty
